Eifuku-ji Temple Daijyoueshiki (Mahayana Buddhism memorial service) *
The Eifuku-ji Temple Mahayana Buddhism memorial service, known as the “Taishi Pilgrimage,” will take place on April 11th and 12th, dates associated with the anniversary of the death of Shotoku Taishi.
Date: Every April 11th and 12th

With respect to Shotoku Taishi’s “harmony” of the spirit, the desire to make all who visit Tashi-cho happy, and to create fond memories for all of those who love Taishi-cho (Town), we started the Taishi Shotoe (Festival).
Date: Mid to late April
Location: Eifuku-ji Temple, Saihoin Temple, Taishi Nagomi Plaza

In early summer, as the sun sets, fireflies illuminate the Karakawa river that flows through Taishi-cho (Town).
Many look forward to seeing the fireflies each year.Date: Early to mid June
Location: Roughly 300m (985ft.) upstream from the Taishi Onsen on the Karakawa river in Taishi-cho (Town).

Mikoshi and Danjiri (portable shrines) are unleashed during this summer festival.
Watch as the lively youth spin the Danjiri.
Ritualistic performances such as Sanbaso (theatre) and Hashadaiko (taiko drums) take place at the shrine.Date: End of July

This is a thanksgiving festival for customers.
Taishi-cho (Town)-grown grapes, freshly-picked local vegetables, and other specialty products are sold at the event.Date: Beginning of August

Weather: Rain or shineTondabayashi Chamber of Commerce Summer Festival with Taishi Shotoku-ichi Market *
This event takes place every year, on the second Saturday of August.
With raffles and Bon Festival dance, many people flock to the event.Date: Mid August

Ise lanterns and temple halls housing images of Jizo line the Takenouchi-Kaido (Road).
The soft light of the lanterns brings autumn to life along the path of Japanese heritage.Date: Mid to late October
Location: Approximately 2.3km (1.42 miles) from the Taishi-cho (Town), Kasuganishi intersection at the “Chikatsu Asuka-no-Sato Taishi” roadside station.

This event coincides with a month-long effort to bring awareness to cultivating today’s youth. Apart from the flea market, there will be a miniature zoo, food stalls, and a variety of stage performances.

Taishi-cho (Town)’s new year begins with mountain climbing…
Every year many make their way from nearby Nara to pray at the Mt. Nijou-zan Medake summit as the sun rises on a new day of a new year.Date: January 1st

The Aozora market is open on the third Sunday of each month at “Taishi Nagomi Plaza.” There are booths that provide helpful information on health and well-being as well as a variety of other shops.
Date : The third Sunday of each month (*During April, August, October, and November, other events will take place alongside the Aozora market)
