Bidatsu-tenno-ryo - Tomb of Emperor Bidatsu

Following Emperor Kimmei, Emperor Bidatsu became the 30th emperor to take the throne in 572AD.
After reigning for 14 years, Emperor Bidatsu died at the age of 48. He was laid to rest in an imperial mausoleum alongside Empress Ishihime.
The tomb was the first to be built in Taishi-cho and the only “keyhole-shaped tumulus” in the town. The grave mound spans a total of 93 meters (305ft), with the rectangular “front” of the keyhole being 12 meters (39ft) high, and the round portion 11.5 meters (37ft).
